My publication in Dutch 'Stamreeks Roodenburg, Zuid-Holland,
1557-1902' (1984) contains data and background
information on the known ancestors of
my great-grandfather Jacob Roodenburg
(1850-1902) and my
great-grandmother Sophia Erkelens
(1853-1939). The oldest record on an
ancestor by the name of Roodenburg dates from
1557. Another branch of the family dates back to as far as 1395 (see
page 44 of the publication; this additional information is not included in the original printed version of the publication). The publication contains copies of the
original documents and an
extensive description of the sources used.
